Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Manager

Tewksbury, MA Onsite Required

8am- 5pm

Temp to Hire ( 3-month contract to start)

$38-48/hour commensurate with experience

Our growing distribution client based in Tewksbury, MA is seeking an AP/AR Manager to join their busy team in a contract to hire role starting as soon as possible.

This role will manage all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations, ensuring accurate financial processing, reporting, and compliance. This role supervises 4 accounting staff, manages key customer credit and collections, reconciles subsidiary accounts to the general ledger, and develops effective accounting policies and procedures. Partners cross-functionally with management, customers, vendors, and external agencies to resolve issues, improve processes, and maintain strong financial controls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 5+ full cycle hands on Accounting experience in busy high volume transactional environment required
  • 3-4 years' experience managing 2+ direct accounting reports.
  • Distribution, manufacturing, or related industry experience required.
  • Advanced Excel, ERP systems required, Prelude highly considered.
  • Experience managing high volume AP/AR operations.
  • Strong understanding of accounting functions and internal controls.
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to pass a drug test and background check.

Responsbilities:

  • Oversee daily Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations.
  • Supervise, train, schedule, assign, and evaluate accounting staff.
  • Reconcile subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger and analyze major accounts monthly.
  • Manage credit and collections for 25-50 key customers.
  • Develop and implement billing, payment processing, recordkeeping systems, and collection strategies.
  • Identify discrepancies, resolve errors, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Communicate accounting policies and procedures with internal management and external stakeholders.
